As part of the planned refurbishment and extension scheme the existing wall structure was opened up in order to provide more natural light, to create functional relationships between individual rooms and to create storage space by using furniture as special dividers. The proposed artificial lighting, a combination of built-in and freely positioned individual lamps was accepted by the client.

Informed by the intended purpose of each room the flat was furnished with commercially available as well as specially designed and purpose-built items of furniture and objects.
