The residential block was built in classic Art Nouveau style and is a listed heritage building situated in close proximity to the Harras traffic intersection, within visual context of the postal buildings designed by Vorhoelzer.

The roof space has been developed as part of a refurbishment project including structural changes and extensions to all units. The marble and stucco entrance hall and hallway, with their trompe l’oeil stucco imitations, and glass painting on the windows facing the inner court- yard have been restored.

The refurbishment project also includes the removal of all structural enclosures from the balcony grid with its filigree-like steel design. In doing so, the simplicity of the structural slim-line appearance of the building is re-instated and becomes integral part of the building’s colour scheme.

The gardens, with their mature trees, are being brought back to reflect its original design concept with, in part, replanting in certain areas.
